Built in 1999, SM City Iloilo is the 8th largest SM Supermall in the Philippines. The mall complex started with a four-level main building and an annex, The SouthPoint, was later added adjacent to the main building.

SM City Iloilo is part of SM mall triplets, the company’s concept of building three shopping malls with the same design in three different areas. The two other malls having the same facade and interior with SM City Iloilo are SM Bacoor and SM City Fairview.
Over the years, new buildings were added to house residential, office, and parking spaces.
