The Philippines are known to have many festivals throughout year throughout the entire Philippines. Festivals are also known as “fiestas”. Fiestas are an important part of the Filipino culture. Each city and barrio has at least one local festival of its own. The theme of each festival is different. Some are religious, some cultural, and some are both. Many have their own “peryas” (trade fairs with temporary amusement parks). Most are very colorful, vibrant, and involve very elaborate costumes. If you have the opportunity to experience a fiesta, join the party and fun-loving spirit of Filipinos.
